Reach Mentor Program
The goal of the Reach Mentor Program is to enhance members' educational experience, obtain a career focus, and always be one step ahead. This program is being formed for first, second, and transfer students to help ease their transition into Cal Poly. We hope to have 3rd+ years volunteer to become a mentor. Through this system, each Mentee will be paired with a Mentor according to the mentee's personal preference (major or career focus). Each pair will last for at least one year, where a Mentee will gain and learn experiences of academic and personal support. Mentors will be required to help their Mentee with any flow chart questions, advice on teachers, classes, and career knowledge. We hope that this will help both the Mentee and the Mentor to stay on track. This program is being established to obtain a higher standard within our members, better grades, focusing on school, internships, and focusing on career options when graduation approaches. If you have any questions, please contact our coordinators. RELAY FOR LIFE Relay for Life is a 24-hour event (date TBA) where many clubs/groups/organizations on campus gather together on Dexter Lawn to raise awareness about cancer. Each group coordinates their members such that somebody is always walking around Dexter loop, members can participate in fun games/contests, entertainment is provided throughout the day, and every group is encouraged to keep fundraising all day (selling snacks, drinks, glowsticks, etc.). Additionally many groups have on display the type of cancer they researched and hence further increase awareness to everybody.
